A Developing Mind Academy is a private Montessori school in Post Falls, Idaho, serving Kindergarten through upper elementary. We believe every child deserves to be known, not just taught, so our classrooms are built around the Montessori philosophy of embracing the whole child: academic growth alongside confidence, independence, and curiosity.
Our curriculum is hands-on and self-paced. Students work with real, tangible materials rather than worksheets, moving through reading, math, and science at a pace that fits them, not a standardized timeline. It’s a dynamic, energized classroom where learning is something students do, not something that happens to them.
A private school families can trust. A Developing Mind Academy holds provisional accreditation through the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and operates as part of Family Support Services of North Idaho, a local nonprofit organization. Education is one of the most important, long-lasting decisions a family makes, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Beyond the core curriculum, students explore foreign language, robotics, and hands-on STEM, including our FIRST LEGO League team, the Lego Warriors, who have represented Idaho on the international stage. Learn more about our robotics program →
A Developing Mind Academy shares ownership and educational approach with Circle of Care Early Childhood Center, giving families a trusted path from early childhood through elementary education, all without ever needing to search for a new school.
